ACUTE LENS INDUCED GLAUCOMAS

Acute elevation of intra-ocular pressure (IOP) can occasionally be associated with lens induced factors. The diagnosis and management of such cases is usually straight forward. However, an improper understanding of these conditions can lead to unnecessary procedures, complications and poor visual outcome. This review of "ACUTE LENS INDUCED GLAUCOMAS" takes a look at the various mechanisms responsible for these conditions, their clinical features, current management and future possibilities.

BORNEO GLAUCOMA UPDATE 2017

Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) and Sabah Women and Children Hospital (SWACH) in a joint venture organized the Borneo Glaucoma Update (BGU) on the 16th-17th March 2017. On 16th the program included a series of talks by Dr Ahmad Mt Saad, Dr Aziz Husni, Dr Shuaibah Abdul Ghani and myself. 



The topics ranged from basics to surgery and lasers. 




In the afternoon, a hands-on session on Micropulse P3 laser (Cyclo G6) was also demonstrated.



On 17th, 2 cases of trabeculectomy were performed by Dr Ahmad in the live surgery session at SWACH.
